The bank is searching for people with proven expertise in order matching engines, such as those used by crypto exchanges, who have worked in the crypto/tech business.
The new Revolut strategy
The growing cryptocurrency market has piqued the curiosity of financial service providers and organizations. Revolut’s reported interest in opening a cryptocurrency exchange might help the digital bank cement its position as a prominent cryptocurrency service provider. The bank now has 16 million clients globally and offers 50 coins.
Revolut’s plans to launch a cryptocurrency exchange will help the bank broaden its service offerings. Creating a crypto exchange might help the bank gain more cash flow in the future, which could help the bank create a consistent income stream in the long term.
It was earlier rumored that the bank was planning to establish an exchange token similar to Binance’s BNB or WazirX’s WRX, which is located in India. The story corresponds to the bank’s most recent job opening, suggesting that the concept of launching a crypto exchange is being seriously studied.
Revolut, located in London, was founded in 2015 and recently received a $33 billion value in a fundraising round earlier this year. Revolut has been giving crypto buying and selling services to its users since 2017, in addition to providing complete banking and trading services.
