When the Dogecoin community was first created, it has always been a little quirky and different than other cryptocurrencies. Now with mainstream attention on this cryptocurrency, we can expect to see more adoption in the future as developers taunt new versions of DOGE.
The “is dogecoin a good long-term investment” is an important question that many are asking. The DOGE community has been preparing for mainstream adoption, as the devs taunt new version.
According to the creators, the new Dogecoin Core version, which will guarantee that all network members pay cheaper transaction costs, is close to being launched.
While the minor version update will let third-party wallets to offer lower transaction fees, Dogecoin (DOGE) supporters believe the improvement will help the currency gain widespread acceptance.
Putting the finishing touches on fee reductions
“It’s not done till we check the build is OK, but soooooon,” challenged Dogecoin devs on Twitter as the new 1.14.5 version release neared completion.
We’re now performing the Gitian build process for Dogecoin Core 1.14.5, which has been tagged (“gone gold” for open source). It’s not finished till we make sure the construction is sound, but it’ll be done soon. https://t.co/s3NolYxbI1

Following the decrease of relay and mining defaults in the previous, 1.14.4 version, the release will confirm a new minimum fee suggestion for all participants on the Dogecoin network.
Low fees, which were previously supported in the current version, will now be the default with the next release.
A minimal transaction charge of 0.01 DOGE per kilobyte is proposed for network members.
Third-party wallets should be able to calculate fees more easily now that transaction sizes are no longer rounded up to the next kilobyte before being calculated.
The update not only completes Dogecoin’s fee reductions, but it also includes patches for two high-severity vulnerabilities that impact the majority of Dogecoin Core users.
Scalability is required for widespread adoption.
This improvement, according to some Dogecoin investors, would give the scalability required for the joke cryptocurrency’s widespread acceptance.
